Yoga Practice: The Cobra Pose

The Cobra Pose engages the muscles of the back to pull the upper body and chest off of the floor thereby stretching the chest and abdominal muscles. At a Tucson, Ariz. workshop, yoga instructor Marianne Schloss and her student Friederike Almstedt demonstrate how to perform the Cobra Pose. Be careful and listen to what your body tells you as begin this stretch, as there will be resistance in your lower backs and hips – don’t persist if it becomes painful.
