The holidays can bring joy, comfort and peace – but for some, it can also bring unhealthy stress. Use the Sunday Weekend Tips throughout this month for simple ways to de-stress that everyone can use, courtesy of Dr. Weil’s website SpontaneousHappiness.com.
Including breath work into your daily routine can lower stress and improve overall health. Dr. Weil’s favorite breath work exercise is the 4-7-8 breath. Briefly, you begin by breathing in through your nose for a count of four, hold your breath for a count of seven, then exhale through your mouth to a count of eight. This is repeated for four breath cycles.
