DrWeil.com is the official website of Weil Lifestyle., one of the portfolio of brands owned and managed by Healthy Lifestyle Brands, LLC. DrWeil.com’s mission is to be the premier online resource for authoritative, trustworthy information on natural health and wellness. To support this mission, we accept advertising and sell products on our site. DrWeil.com is funded in part by third-party advertisements and sponsors.
The purpose of this policy is to help you understand some of the differences between advertising and independent, editorial content on our site, and guidelines that apply for advertisements and sponsorships we accept.
We do not review, approve, or endorse third-party products, services or companies placing advertising on our site.
DrWeil.com has not evaluated the products and services advertised on this site or on any newsletters. The advertisement of certain product and services on our site is not an endorsement of those product and services. We have established clear guidelines on how advertising is labeled and visually distinguished from what is editorial content. Advertising on our site and newsletters is not targeted to individual users. Rather, it is placed through third party ad servers, and it may appear adjacent to content which may or may not be relevant to the advertised item or sponsor. Advertisements only for Weil-licensed products may claim an endorsement by Dr. Weil, as set forth in the license agreement between the Weil licensee and Weil Lifestyle.
Advertisements
“Advertisement” or “Sponsored” is used to label the most common forms of advertising on our sites and newsletters. The content of this form of advertising is controlled by the advertiser. Ads are labeled with the word “Advertisement” or “Sponsored” adjacent to the advertisement. If you click on an advertisement, it will usually link to a site that is operated by the advertiser. We have no control over the advertiser’s site or the policies on that site. You should familiarize yourself with the terms of use, privacy policies or other policies applicable to those sites before using them.
Special Sections
This site may publish special sections on certain health and lifestyle topics. Advertisers may fund areas that contain independent, editorial content that we created or selected. Other content on this site may be provided by or on behalf of an advertiser. To help indicate an advertiser’s involvement, these sections will typically be labeled “Sponsored by” an advertiser at the top of the page. Sometimes we may use other labels on these pages, such as “Brought to you by,” “Made possible by,” or “Support provided by” the advertiser. These special sections may also include advertisements on the page from the advertiser that will be labeled as indicated in the “Advertisements” section above.
We do not accept certain kinds of advertisements
To help ensure that the advertising on our site is consistent with our mission of helping you to live your best, we have adopted certain limitations on the types of advertising that we accept.
Advertisers are prohibited from placing any advertising that:
- Contains false, deceptive, or misleading claims
- Promotes products that are illegal or whose distribution would violate the law
- Promotes the sale of fireworks, firearms, ammunition, or weapons designed to inflict serious bodily harm
- Promotes betting or gambling
- Promotes pornography
We also do not accept advertising that promotes alcohol or tobacco products. However, we may accept promotions for educational campaigns such as smoking cessation and responsible drinking messages that are consistent with genuine efforts to educate consumers.
Dr. Weil has a long standing bias against consumer advertisements of pharmaceutical drugs. DrWeil.com reserves the right to refuse any advertisement.
Dr. Weil donates all of his after-tax profits from royalties from sales of Dr. Weil licensed products to the Weil Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting integrative medicine through training, education and research.
