Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine
Founded in 1994 by Dr. Andrew Weil, the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine (AzCIM) at the University of Arizona aims to educate physician leaders who will be instrumental in helping change medical education and the healthcare system. AzCIM offers a two-year residential fellowship for physicians as well as a two year distance learning experience called the Associate Fellowship. The Associate Fellowship Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine
The first of its kind, the Associate Fellowship trains physicians, physician's assistants and nurse practitioners on how to incorporate the philosophies and techniques of integrative medicine, through both the Internet and on-site training. To date, 160 physicians - from six countries and 32 states - representing 35 different medical specialties have studied integrative medicine through this unique program which has over 80 graduates. This innovative, instructional program creates a vibrant community of learners and emphasizes clinical applications, case studies and collaboration to provide a broad conceptual and practical education in integrative medicine.
