Q
Updated Supplement Advice?
I see that you've changed your Vitamin Advisor. What's the difference? Do I need to take the questionnaire again?
A
Answer (Published 10/10/2006)

Updated 7/12/2005

Although I have made some changes, the key components of the Vitamin Advisor (VA) will remain available on this site to help you determine which supplements will benefit you most. As always, when you take the Vitamin Advisor, you receive personalized recommendations based on your health, medications, diet and other aspects of lifestyle. In addition, the VA will now enable you to prioritize the importance of health conditions you identify or are at risk for. These include cardiovascular disease; breast, prostate or colon cancer; arthritis; osteoporosis; fatigue; depression; diabetes; menopause; as well as problems with memory, alcohol intake, and even exposure to pollution.

If you have opted to receive my supplements, you may notice that in some cases I've reduced the number of pills a formula contains, although the formula itself is unchanged. In other cases, I have improved some of the formulas based on the latest research and the input of my Science Advisory Board.

For example, women taking my formula to protect against the bone thinning that can lead to osteoporosis will now get the recommended dosages in fewer pills. By combining the evidence-based components, I've also reduced the number of pills in the vision health formula and liver health formula; this makes daily supplementation a little easier.

The antioxidant and multivitamin formulas I recommend for everyone are unchanged and still contain the highest quality ingredients available.

If you haven't taken the Vitamin Advisor recently, I encourage you to take it again, particularly if there have been any changes in your health or in the medications you take. Your new answers will override your older ones and may lead to a recommendation that offers more health benefits than the one you're following now.
