I seem to get cold and once I feel cold it is very hard to get warm.  I live in the Northeast and our weather is starting to get cooler.  Actually I've had this problem for years.  Had blood work a couple of months ago to check for thyroid problems, the doctor said all my bloodwork was fine.

Any suggestions for warming up?

I hear ya !  I live in Mn. & I'm freezing all winter. I've just read some info that ginger is good for the circulatory system. Could make a tea, or mix it with water & some flavoring ?

I'm going to buy some & give it a try this winter. Maybe we could check back with each other in a few months & compare results.

Keep warm !

Vitalia-

Do you pay to have your car fixed?

Just because you can't find an acupuncturist who takes your insurance doesn't mean you can't pay an acupuncturist.  Consider it like paying to fix your car accept your fixing yourself, the most important thing in your world!  :)  Judy

Yes Judy you are right.

I have never dealt with an accupuncturist - most of my friends use chiropractors - so I still have to see if that is the right thing for me.

Hi Vitalia-

I have always had this problem, which seemed to accelerate when the family moved to Wisconsin. I finally got smart and started to dress for the weather, even indoors. While others can be comfortable in a tee shirt and bare feet, I have finally reached my comfort level in wearing socks (mostly year 'round, wool socks in winter) and a sweater. Cotton sweaters in the summer, wool sweaters in the winter. I was tired of "fighting" feeling chilly all the time. I would be the crazy lady you would see at the beach in a sweater or sweatshirt, lol. But I would rather feel comfortable at this point in my life. Sometimes in the winter I actually break down and do dishes to get warm (sad, I know), but it works! I have never tried acupuncture, though. Maybe that is the answer..I would be curious to find out!

Hi Toontz

Thanks for your reply.  I probably don't dress as warmly as I should.  Will try to follow your advice.

I am still thinking about accupuncture, but I'm not sure.  I am going to buy the ginger tea that was mentioned above.

Have a warm winter!

Hello!  This is my first time here & I saw your comment about being cold and I saw the recommendation for an acupuncturist - so I thought I would add my experience & suggestion.  I have seen 2 acupuncturists and I am currently seeing 1 full time to relieve some very tight muscles that have built up tension over years.  The 1st acupuncturist told me my hands and feet are always cold due to low blood level.  I have seen my current acupuncturist for several months and he is working with me (on the tight muscles & other conditions) through acupuncture & herbs to increase my blood level.  He has given me a recommendation of foods to eat & not to eat to increase my blood level.  Little by little my level is increasing and I am staying warmer over all.  I don't have to go to bed in layers or flannel anymore..lol!...even with the weather getting colder.  After experiencing acupuncture and seeing & feeling the results, I am a big believer in acupuncture.  It not only works for physical situations but emotional as well.  Our insurance does not cover the acupuncture either, but I can say I am so thrilled that I began these treatments & it's been worth every penny.  It's amazing what acupuncture can do....far beyond western medicine where your conditions are masked with medication & treatments that don't get to the root.  I hope this has been helpful.  I know there is a website where you can locate a licensed acupuncturist & the name isn't coming to me....here is another, acufinder.com

Sending you all the best...and warmth :)

no one really knows exactly how acupuncture works, but when it does, apparently it feels like a miracle.

though i have never had to use it, 2 of my close friends swear by it. but it's true, like anything, you need to find a very experienced practitioner. one lady tried every know drug, then surgery for her carpal tunnel in her arm. spent many, many thousands of dollars. after sixteen $40 sessions, she has remained pain-free for the past 18 years.

just sayin...

I am cold all the time as well but my biggest problem is indoors.  I can tolerate cooler temperatures outside (I live in Wisconsin as well).  I have headaches constantly at work even tohugh I was finally moved to an office where I can turn the HVAC system off during the day.  Cold for me is anything under 75 degrees.  Add a cold draft from AC to that and I am miserable.  I get migraines from the cool air.

I dress for WInter year round especially at work.  I wear warm sweaters and often wear a coat besides.  I even started wearing leggings under my work pants year round.  I have had blood work done and they never find anything wrong.

I just got to the point where I don't care what people think of me.  I am going to dress to be comfortable.  My biggest problem is not being able to spend time with my sisters at their homes in the WInter.  They keep them too cold for me and I can't expect them to turn up the heat just for me.  They know they have to come to my house to see me.
