Dr. Weil recommends 'sucking on lozenges' when you have laryngitis. Please recommend a lozenge for laryngitis that does not contain sugar. Sugar is the last thing I want to ingest while I'm fighting off a cold or have laryngitis and, although the popular lozenges (Hall's Fishermen's Friend etc) do not list sugar as an ingredient, I looked them up on the web, and sugar is the first ingredient...even in the Kama C.A.Z.E. lozenges.

Thank you for this information. I see that these Ricola lozenges contain "Isomalt as the sweetener." I'm not familiar with this sweetener. Is it safer than all those other killer sweeteners like aspertame etc?

Just thinking that perhaps honey and lemon would be good ingredients.

Let me think about how to get those ingredients to bind together without some negative substance> Unless of course you wanted medication in the lozenge?

Thanks for checking that out. The point is I was trying to find a lozenge that didn't have any sweetner at all -- sugar, fructose, nasty one or honey. It seems counter-productive to be popping candies/lozenges that are mostly sweetener when I'm already sick because I know, sugar/honey in any amount really does undermine my immune system.

 It's a good question and we hope to find something for you and perhaps others have some idea?
