Try this:

Vital Choice have a "Mercury" chart where you can compare the levels of mercury of their products compared to others:

If you're referring to canned tuna and wondering which brand has less mercury, I think they're all very much the same. I can't speak for Vital Choice brand...but I wonder how they can claim to have such low levels in their tuna which come out of the same oceans. If they only use their own farmed fish they can govern the quality.

This is an old article, but to my knowledge, nothing much has been done by the FDA to change the situation:

Edit to add second link...also old. It seems the FDA dropped the ball and there is no new news about mercury in canned tuna.

As a pediatrician, I get asked this from time to time.

Tongol canned tuna (with or without salt) has less mercury. They tend to be much smaller tuna, so they haven't lived as long or gotten so big eating lots of other fish. Albacore tends to be the highest in mercury (unless carefully caught in a small size, as Vital Choice offers). The tuna marked, "white" or "solid light" also tends to be from larger tuna and therefor higher mercury, and chunk light tends to be lower. Tongol tends to be lowest. However, I am not as worried about tuna as I used to be, since studies suggest that the selenium in finfish binds the mercury and makes it much less of a burden to us. They still have a problem with swordfish, shark, (and the pilot fish which lead to a high mercury burden in one of the island studies, similar to kiiller whale, low in selenium). If you can eat 1-2 Brazil nuts daily, that is one of the best sources of selenium, and is absorbed more easily than the mineral supplement.

Keep in mind, salmon is reliably less in mercuy (since they die after several years in the natural life cycle) and especially sockeye or red salmon (which has never been farm raised) has 3x more omega-3 than tuna as well as much more vitamin D3 than other fish.

 Enjoy!

I noticed a link provided to Vital Choice..that is where I order all of my tuna. I order the canned.  The flavor is wonderful also and well worth the cost.  Very fast shipping. I also order their canned salmon and fillets...and some of their organic berries.  The flavor does  not compare to what you buy in the store...and I know it is very healthy.

As synchronicity would have it....I just got an email from Oceana with info about mercury....It may not answer your question as to which brands are safest, but it does give some info in general....
