Is there any truth that green tea is processed with formaldehyde?  I am concerned not only of green tea but green tea extract in the pill form.

Google is your friend. Apparently unused green tea bags can absorb formaldehyde. There is nothing about processing green tea with formaldehyde.

Hope that helps,

I do not know the answer to your question, but I am not a fan of the green tea pills.  Who knows what they really put in those things anyway?  I prefer the natural green tea, and it makes sense that it would be healthier.  I am, however, looking for a really good quality loose  green tea.   I don't care for using the dried up green tea in teabags that have been processed and sit on a shelf for months.

I have found the matcha green tea to be very good although takes a little time to prepare.  I have been using green tea capusles also due to possible medical benefits and not being able to drink the amount of tea daily to make up for it.

Try this website: http://www.republicoftea.com/  This brand is often available in local stores but mostly offered in tea bags.  I buy the loose tea from the website.  My boss gave me a Christmas gift from this site: http://www.adagio.com/green/index.html  I get one green and one black canister of tea every other month.  Both companies offer good tea.
