No clue about the testosterone shots, but you can lower your voice on your own. It takes a bit of commitment from yourself, but after you get it down it becomes natural....cheaper too.
Hello, I am responding as a physician and a trained singer. Many people have already sought help for the way they speak. I don't know what you have tried so far, but will comment generally on what are your options. I would not despair, however.
First, consult with a doctor, who will take your concern seriously, to determine if you have a condition that would lead to low levels of the hormone. That can be easily detectable. Testosterone in high doses can have significant dangerous effects, such as fostering prostate cancer or rage problems.
I would still not despair if your hormonal levels are normal and there is no explainable medical cause. I would consult with a vocal expert, either a speech therapist or a vocal teacher. You would be working with aspects of yourself that can be in your control, such as breath control, placement of sounds, tone, pitch, etc.
Even great singers can be weak in one range of their voice, high, low, or middle. Working with someone who can help you become aware of how you speak and how to enhance your lower registers can be enlightening and centering.
Men tie a significant part of their sense of selves to physical attributes such as strength, voice, carriage, etc. We can also be very sensitive to the insults of others, which is something that bullies and some guys can't help doing to make themselves feel better at your expense. What we are physically is not all we are, but everyone wants to feel comfortable in their bodies. Consider that it might be just as important to find that spirit of masculinity that is the essence of who you are and start from there.
In summary, by reworking the outside, such as voice, we can change the inside, how we feel about ourselves. And vice versa: by reworking the inside, we can change our outer self.
Most people conceptualize the larynx (voice box) to be a stationary organ, but it actually has a range of mobility that affects the timbre of the voice. I recommend trying to lengthen and enlarge the vocal tract by dropping the larynx and relaxing the pharyngeal (throat) constrictors. This will allow a warmer and darker timbre for a more manly voice. You can accomplish this though yawning and breath exercises. This also ties together with jaw and tongue relaxation to release the larynx.
Also, I have asked the doctor about the size of my penis, but he never responds. Do you think that one inch is normal? It is very enbarrassing when I am in the showers.
I am glad that you are a doctor because I have asked Dr Weil this question. Is it normal to have a size of a penis one inch long? It is very enbarrassing when in public. It seems that when I sit, it goes into the scrotum. Also, in public restrooms, it is hard to get out because it is so small. I would appreciate your comments and God bless you.
Based upon the two physical signs about which you have concerns, I would strongly urge your being evaluated first by an endocrinologist, to evaluate your hormonal status.
